ChargeTariff (“we”, “us”) operates a free EV charging price comparison
website. This page explains what data we handle, what we store on your device, and how
advertising works on the site. We keep this deliberately short and readable.
1. Information we collect
- Nothing that identifies you, by default. Browsing the map, comparing
prices and using the charging calculator requires no account and sends no personal data
to us.
- Settings stored on your device only: your language and country
preferences (e.g.
volt-lang, volt-country) are saved in your
browser’s local storage. They never leave your device.
- Community contributions (if the feature is enabled): if you submit a
price report or station correction, we store the content you provide and the account
identifier needed to attribute and manage that contribution.
2. Advertising
We display advertising via Google AdSense to keep the service free.
- Google and its partners use cookies or device identifiers to serve ads based on your
visits to this and other websites.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising at
Google Ads Settings, or
opt out of third-party vendor cookies at
aboutads.info.
- Where required by law (e.g. the EU/UK), we request your consent before personalised
ads are shown.
3. Map data
Base map tiles are provided by CARTO (© OpenStreetMap contributors). Loading a map
sends standard web requests (including your IP address) to the tile provider as with any
image load. Charging station data is sourced from the Open Charge Map public dataset.
